Our History
30+ years of tennis excellence.
What began in 1991 as a local tournament has grown into one of the largest and most celebrated stops on the GLTA World Tour.
Each year, the Clay Court Classic welcomes players from across the globe to Fort Lauderdale for five days of competition, camaraderie, and celebration.
From its earliest days, the CCC has been about more than winning matches.It is about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, both on and off the court.

The CCC is more than a tournament. It is a force for good in South Florida. Proceeds from the event go directly back into the community, supporting local charities and organizations that uplift and empower.
South Florida Tennis Club
The South Florida Tennis Club has proudly hosted the Clay Court Classic for more than three decades. As one of the longest-standing LGBTQ+ tennis clubs in the country, SFTC is dedicated to fostering inclusivity, competition, and community. With its beautiful clay courts, vibrant membership, and welcoming atmosphere, the club is the heart of the CCC experience.
